New Zine, 'Aught To', debuts at Light Grey Labs 'Stacks' exhibition

My latest Zine Aught To, a review of (sub)cultural happenings in the Gregorian calendar year of 2002, was released as part of a group Zine exhibition at Light Grey Art Labs on August 1st, 2014. the show brought together 60 international artists, each tasked with producing a Zine themed for an assigned year spanning the last three decades. Each artist produced a limited edition of 75 hand numbered copies to be exchanged with the group of contributors and for display at the Light Grey Art Labs gallery through September.

"Stacks' opening Reception at Light Grey Art Labs

The Light Grey Art Labs zine show, Stacks, which I took part in, opened on August 1st, 2014 at their exhibition space in South Minneapolis at 118 E. 26th Street at 7pm. It was well attended and pretty crowded already by the time I showed up. The gallery space had been transformed into a sort of reading room, with the shows 60 each prominently displayed and available for viewing.

People took turns leafing through each issue, some skimming, others with noses buried for longer spells, absorbed in their reading and soaking it all up.

Local art scene celebrity Scott Seekins was seeking some new zines, seen here clutching his handy 3-ring binder of his own personal work.
